USE CONSTANTIA'S NEW TRAFFIC CIRCLE SAFELY!

Category November 2019

When entering a circle in the left hand (outer) lane (vehicle A) the intention of the driver should be to exit at either the first or second exit. When the driver intends to exit at the second exit  he/she  should enter the circle in the right hand (inside) lane (vehicle B) and exit the second exit in the right hand (inner) lane. When a driver wants to exit at the third or fourth exit he/she should enter  the circle in the right hand (inner) lane (vehicle B) and change lanes to the left hand (outer) lane before exiting the circle.

Indicators should be used when entering the circle, changing lanes and when exiting the circle.

When entering a circle the driver should yield to the right, thus allowing any vehicle already in the circle right of way. When changing lanes (from inner to outer lane for example) in the circle the driver should yield to the left for vehicles that are already in the circle and therefore allow the outer lane vehicle right of way.
